Richard (Dick) Young, MD, President; Chair of Executive Committee and Chair of the Quality and Planning Committee
Dick Young has been coming to Vinalhaven for over thirty years. He and his wife moved to Maine in 2014. They spend summers on the island and visit year-round. Dick is a retired physician who worked in hospital administration as a Medical Director and practiced psychiatry. Emily Lane, Vice President
Emily Lane has been a community leader in Vinalhaven where she has lived for 50 years. She currently runs her own consulting business: Blue Lobster Consulting LLC. Emily has been actively involved in the lobster industry for over 30 years, locally, nationally and internationally. Laura E. Blankertz, PhD Laura Blankertz has been coming to Vinalhaven for over 60 years. When she's not in there, she resides in Newtown Square PA. Before she retired, Laura focused her work on evaluation of behavioral health programs. Jeanne Bineau-Ames Jeanne Bineau-Ames came to Vinalhaven in 1989 and taught English and Art to middle and high school students for 12 years. When her youngest son entered kindergarten, she went back to work as a special ed technician. Today, she owns the Vinalhaven Taxi, provides home health care services for the elderly, and works as an Island EMT. She also serves on a variety of town committees and the Pleasant River Grange. Stephen Blatt Steve Blatt is a lifelong Mainer born in Auburn. He practices architecture with a focus on school design and his work includes the schools on North Haven and Islesboro. He and artist/wife Lynn live in Portland, and for the past twenty years, spend as much time as possible, year-round, on Vinalhaven. Connie Gemmer, Chair of the Fund Drive and Chair of the Nominating Committee Connie Gemmer is a communications consultant. She works for POWER Engineers and has her own consulting LLC. Connie and her husband Fred live in Portland. They spend as much time as possible at their house in Vinalhaven (often referred to as Dr. Ray’s house/office.) William (Sandy) A. Lieber, MD Sandy Lieber’s involvement with ICMS spans 50 years: first as a medical student, then as a healthcare provider and a patient. He has been on the board for more than 20 years and lives in Vinalhaven every spring, summer and fall. William (Bill) Trevaskis Bill Trevaskis teaches music and organizes the school yearbook at Vinalhaven School. While he lives on North Haven, he considers Vinalhaven to be his second home and is in love with the community. Chester Warren Chet Warren has lived in Vinalhaven since 1988. He is an experienced business- person who has started a number of enterprises, including The Village Center, The Plant Place and Alternative Oil. Kathi Young Kathi Young is a lifelong resident of Vinalhaven. She has served on the Affordable Housing Committee, School Board, and Board of Selectmen. She is currently the Manager at Island Lobster Supply. |
